Most pet food advice is marketing. This isn't.
A nutrition plan for your dog, built from published veterinary nutrition standards and the actual composition of the food — not from whoever paid for placement.
See it work. No account, nothing to install.
Three steps. About twelve minutes for the full picture.
Tell us about your dog
Breed, age, weight, body condition, health history, and what they eat now. We explain why we're asking each time — because you should know what we do with it.
We check the food against the standard
Every food we recommend is compared against published AAFCO nutrient profiles for your dog's life stage, using the manufacturer's own published composition. Where a manufacturer hasn't published something, we say so rather than guessing.
You get grams per day, and the reasoning
Not a brand name and a shrug. The actual amount to feed, what it's strong at, and what it isn't.
We don't take money from pet food companies.
Not for placement, not for ranking, not for "featured" slots. No manufacturer can pay to appear in your dog's plan or to appear higher in it.
Built on published veterinary nutrition standards.
How we make that checkable, not just sayable:
- Cost is not a ranking factor. It contributes nothing to the score.
- Every recommendation shows its reasoning — including where a food falls short.
- We show our sources. Every nutrient figure traces to where we got it and when.
- When we don't have good data, we say so instead of filling the gap.
If a recommendation ever looks like an advert, we've failed — and you should tell us.
This is a plan.
- The amount to feed, in grams a day, split across meals — with the changeover schedule to get there.
- The energy maths, in full, so your vet can check it.
- Why this food — and what it isn't good at.
- An alert if your food is recalled or reformulated. We check the FDA's pet food recall notices every fifteen minutes against the food your pet is on, and warn you on a suspected match rather than waiting to be sure. When a label we hold changes its formula, we tell you that too.
Using this in practice
Your clients arrive with food questions you don't have twenty minutes for. VetNexus gives them a plan grounded in the standards you already use — and gives you the final word on it.
- Review and sign off plans for your patients, or override with your reasoning recorded.
- Set a practice formulary: brands or ingredients you don't want recommended to your clients.
- Co-branded, never white-labeled — your clients know it came from you.
What we're not doing yet
Cats
Cats have genuinely different requirements — they can't make some nutrients at all. We'd rather tell you that than give you a plan we don't stand behind.
Prescription diets
If your vet has your dog on a therapeutic diet, that's their call to change, not ours.
Start with the number.
It takes about two minutes, it costs nothing, and you can check every step of it.
